Frequently asked questions
Q – I am confused by all the many people who are involved with my claim. Can you explain who they are?
A – The insurance agent who sold you the policy is the insurance company’s representative. The insurance adjuster, who is assigned to your claim, will work with us to approve and pay for repairs or replacements based upon your insurance policy coverage limits. Your mortgage company may be involved to assist with ensuring that your property is repaired back to a pre-loss condition. Gohm Insurance Restoration, your restoration contractor, has been hired by you and will work with all the different parties to restore your damaged property.
Q – Who do I call first, Gohm or my insurance company?
A – It does not matter who you contact first, but only you as a policyholder can turn in a claim to your insurance company.
Q – What happens when I call you in the middle of the night? Will I see a live person right away?
A – When you call Gohm Insurance Restoration you will always reach a live person. After normal business hours, which are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., our live answering service will dispatch the call to our on-call supervisor. Once the on-call supervisor is put in contact with you, we will have technicians on site in approximately one to one and a half hours.
Q – My agent says my policy doesn't cover all the damage. Can you still do the work?
A – Yes, Gohm Insurance Restoration will work with you on any type of claim, whether it is covered by insurance or not.
Q – My property was damaged by fire and I am concerned about smoke damage issues. What do I do?
A – Gohm Insurance Restoration takes the necessary steps, using a multi-step process, to ensure your property has been completely decontaminated of all fire and smoke damage and odor.
Q – My property has been damaged by water intrusion and I am concerned about mold. What do I do?
A – Gohm Insurance Restoration has certified drying technicians who will instruct you on the process and what to expect. Specialized drying equipment will be set up to dry your property in the quickest method possible to help prevent mold growth.
Q – I have damaged personal property. What do I do?
A – Gohm Insurance Restoration will inventory all of your personal property, then pack it up, clean or restore it, store it at a climate-controlled location and return it upon completion of your repaired property. The items that cannot be repaired may be replaced providing you have coverage.
